Overview

With this solution, backup and restore operations can be automatically parallelized across all database nodes, Oracle Exadata storage cells, and ZFS Storage Appliance channels and controllers. The QDR IB fabric provides the high bandwidth required to significantly reduce backup and recovery time objectives compared to traditional NAS storage systems. Since the ZFS Storage Appliance connects directly to the Oracle Exadata InfiniBand network, there is no need for the typical media server found in traditional backup architectures (without tape).
