Overview

Using a blade-like modular design architecture, the Sun Fire X4800 M2 is powered by two or four CPU modules, each one with two Intel® Xeon® processor E7-8800 product family CPUs and 32 memory slots. With eight or ten cores per socket, this server delivers extreme compute density in a compact 5 RU enclosure. When compared with the previous generation server, this system doubles low voltage memory to up to 2 TB and doubles internal storage to 4.8 TB while reducing power consumption.
