Features and benefits

WebSphere Partner Gateway provides centralized and consolidated B2B trading partner and transaction management to enable and manage process and data integration with trading partners. It is an integral part of the WebSphere service oriented architecture (SOA), Business Process Management (BPM), and Connectivity portfolio of products. WebSphere Partner Gateway enables participation in SOA implementations and allows companies to integrate their trading partners within their BPM implementations.

Multiple Editions

WebSphere Partner Gateway V6.2 is available in two editions, Advanced Edition and Enterprise Edition, which provide the same functionality, but are licensed differently. Advanced Edition is licensed to support a specified number of external trading partner connections and Enterprise Edition is licensed to support an unlimited number of external trading partner connections. Further, WebSphere Partner Gateway - Express, V6.0, a lightweight, easy-to-implement gateway application supporting HTTP/S and EDIINT AS2, may be used to integrate with smaller trading partners.

SOA and BPM Integration

WebSphere Partner Gateway V6.2 integrates with other WebSphere SOA and BPM-related business integration products such as, but not limited, to WebSphere Transformation Extender (WTX), WebSphere Data Interchange (WDI), WebSphere Process Server (WPS), WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus (WESB), WebSphere Message Broker (WMB), WebSphere Business Monitor, and IBM Tivoli Monitor (ITM).

New features in WebSphere Partner Gateway V6.2

WebSphere Partner Gateway V6.2 incorporates and builds upon the capabilities of WebSphere Partner Gateway V6.1.1 by adding new functional capabilities, performance and usability enhancements, and operating system platform support. These include:

• Tighter integration with WebSphere Transformation Extender using WebSphere Partner Gateway's extensibility framework. WebSphere Partner Gateway now allows direct integration of WebSphere Transformation Extender with its runtime using the extensibility framework. You can callout from WebSphere Partner Gateway to WebSphere Transformation Extender for the transformation. The administration console provides a single view of the document while it flows through WebSphere Partner Gateway and WebSphere Transformation Extender.
• Ability to receive and send documents over Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP).
• Console based archiver and scheduler, which now has simpler configuration with considerable improvement in the archiver performance. You can schedule the archiver task to run on daily, weekly, or custom basis, and also view the archiver reports. The console provides an option to restore and search for the required archiver configuration.
• Ability to auto-upgrade WebSphere Partner Gateway from V6.x to V6.2. This allows easy database and hub migration. The tool minimizes the manual upgrade effort and allows hub restoration for all topologies.
• An editor for ebXML Message Service (ebMS) to create CPA / CPP for use with ebXML.
• Improvements in throughput performance and processing time of large files for AS documents.
• Certificate upload and configuration enhancements, where WebSphere Partner Gateway has added decryption and digital signature verification values to certificate types for internal partner and hub operator users.
• Links to error messages with details describing the cause of the error and the possible solution. You can view the error details by accessing the error event link in the WebSphere Partner Gateway console.
• Ability to run installation verification test (IVT) at the end of WebSphere Partner Gateway component installation. Using IVT tool you can avoid manual checking of log files after installation of each WebSphere Partner Gateway component.
• WebSphere Partner Gateway First Steps page enhancements provide various options during installation of WebSphere Partner Gateway. First Steps application is installed internally with other WebSphere Partner Gateway components.
• Scripts to automatically update the changes to host name, IP address, ports, or database connection information after WebSphere Partner Gateway is installed.
• Ability to export and import entire configuration information used by WebSphere Partner Gateway. The manual process of migrating the configuration information between QA and Production systems is simplified significantly.
• Ability to install WebSphere Partner Gateway into an existing WebSphere Application Server cell as opposed to previous versions where a new cell was created whenever WebSphere Partner Gateway was installed.
• ISA V4 support for log file collection and transmission, which helps you to find the necessary information required for analyzing a problem and managing WebSphere Partner Gateway service requests.

New features in WebSphere Partner Gateway V6.2 Refresh Pack 1

WebSphere Partner Gateway V6.2.1 is a refresh pack and WebSphere Partner Gateway V6.2 is a prerequisite to install V6.2.1. WebSphere Partner Gateway V6.2.1 Refresh Pack 1 supports the following new features:

• Web Mail box is web based support for B2B interaction. Partners, customers, and vendors interact with the WebSphere Partner Gateway hub using only the internet browser.
• SFTP integrated server is supported in addition to FTP integrated server.
• OpenPGP certificate is supported in WebSphere Partner Gateway.
• Support for WebSphere Application Server ND V7.0.0.13, WebSphere Messaging Queue 7.0, and WTX 8.3.
• Platform support for Windows 2008, Windows 7, and SLES 11.
• Power 7 Support -Toleration Mode (P6/P6+ Compatible Modes).
• Virtualization Support - VMware ESX with Windows and Linux, Power VM with AIX.
