Storage Enterprise Resource Planner

Overview

A single reporting platform that addresses enterprise needs for collecting and monitoring storage capacity and utilization across diverse technologies.

Users can identify candidates for storage reclamation on several levels, improve storage utilization across the infrastructure by tracking availability and use, centralize storage configuration information, and gain valuable insight on storage consumption for capacity analysis and planning.

Storage Enterprise Resource Planner
  • Leverages existing storage resource management data sources to capture storage infrastructure and use data within large, multi-site, heterogeneous environments
  • Provides consistent, comprehensive information on device details and utilization for arrays, hosts, NAS and switches
  • Enables effective capacity analysis through the use of historical data collected for array volume, file system, and switch utilization to create detail trending reports
  • Identifies storage reclamation opportunities on several levels including array volumes presented to hosts that are either not in a partition, not in a device group, or not having a host device associated and array-based file systems falling below client defined utilization parameters
  • Provides forecasting for upcoming environment resource needs by using historical usage data for a baseline of how resources have been used and applying predictive intelligence algorithms to present detail forecasts of anticipated storage asset usage
  • Identifies virtualized storage managed by TPC and SVC
  • Augments storage resource management system data with an IBM DMM Data Extractor for agent-less host discovery and data collection capability
  • Operating systems supported: Windows family
