The following is a list of detailed system requirements for the supported releases of Alloy by IBM and SAP.
Version 1.x
Alloy by IBM and SAP 1.0.1 system requirements
Alloy by IBM and SAP 1.0.1 is available on a Lotus Domino 8.0.2, 8.5, or 8.5.1 server with an Alloy client plug-in installed to a Lotus Notes (standard configuration) 8.0.2, 8.5, or 8.5.1 client. Alloy 1.0.1 requires a Domino 8.0.2, 8.5, or 8.5.1 mail template. Additional Alloy 1.0.1 system requirements information is supplied here.

Alloy requires that all Notes and Domino fix packs and hotfixes be installed, including the latest cumulative hotfix for Notes. You should also install any available Alloy fix packs and hotfixes on your Notes and Domino systems. Fix pack and hotfix information is available at www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral and www.ibm.com/developerworks/lotus/support.

Install and upgrade considerations
- Alloy is available for Notes standard configuration users only; it is not available for Notes basic configuration.
- The Alloy server and the Alloy client should not be installed on the same computer; that configuration is not supported.
- Alloy supports Notes single user install only; multi-user install is not currently supported.
- You cannot mix the add-on installer and widget deployment methods when installing and upgrading the Alloy client plug-in. For example, if you install the Alloy client plug-in using the add-on installer, you cannot upgrade to a new release using the widget deployment method.

System requirements
Alloy 1.0.1 supports the following SAP and IBM Lotus Notes and IBM Lotus Domino software.
- SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) 6.0 Service Pack 14 running on SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Service Pack 17 with the Enterprise Service Architecture (ESA) addon ECCSE 602 or higher
- (Optional) SAP Business Warehouse 3.5 Service Pack 23, or SAP Business Information Warehouse 7.0 Service Pack 17
- IBM Lotus Notes (standard configuration) 8.0.2, 8.5, or 8.5.1 software on Microsoft Windows Vista Business and Enterprise Editions, and Microsoft Windows XP Professional Edition
- IBM Lotus Domino 8.0.2 or 8.5 software (to host Lotus Domino Alloy AddOn) on Microsoft Windows 2003 Server 32 bit, Standard and Enterprise Editions
- The SAP Alloy Addon 1.0.1 requires all SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Java stack platform constellations, Service Pack 17 and higher running on SAP WEBAS 7. For example:
- IBM AIX with SAP MaxDB
- IBM zLinux with IBM DB2 Enterprise Server
- Microsoft Windows 64bit with Microsoft SQL Server
- Microsoft Windows 64bit with SAP MaxDB
- IBM AIX with Oracle 9.2
Available protocols:
- NetBIOS over IP (only Microsoft TCP/IP is supported)
- NetBIOS over IX NetBios
- TCP/IP
- TCP/IP IPV6
- X.PC

- Alloy by IBM and SAP 1.0.1 Server for Windows Multilingual (English, German, French, Italian, Japanese) for installing on a valid Domino 8.0.2, 8.5, or 8.5.1 server
- Alloy by IBM and SAP 1.0.1 Client for Windows Multilingual (English, German, French, Italian, Japanese) for installing on a valid Notes (standard configuration) 8.0.2, 8.5, or 8.5.1 client system
- Alloy 1.0 software by IBM and SAP, SP01 - This is the SAP Information worker Add-on components to be installed and configured for Alloy on a SAP NetWeaver 7.0 system. This component can be configured to connect to an SAP ERP 6.0 and/or BI 3.5 or 7.0 system.

Other Alloy install considerations
- The Alloy server and the Alloy client should not be installed on the same computer; that configuration is not supported.
- Alloy version 1.0 supports Notes single user install only; multi-user install is not currently supported.
- If you install the Alloy client plug-in using the add-on installer and later want to upgrade to a new release or hotfix using the widget and widgets catalog deployment method, you must first uninstall the Alloy client plug-in and then deploy it using the widget and catalog method. Currently there is no support for upgrade between the two client installation methods.
