- When using DB2 to store session data, an open database connectivity (ODBC) relational database (RDB) client must be installed.
- Support is only for DataDirect ODBC Oracle Wire Protocul Driver. No support is offered for the Client Mode Driver.
- For DB2, the Instance Wizard is required by Connection Manager for the correct installation and configuration of the DB2 database instance. The Instance Wizard can only be installed from the DB2 Administration Client or from the Application Development Client software packages. When using DB2 with Connection Manager, make sure to install either the DB2 Administration Client or Application Development DB2 Client.
- On Linux distributions, Connection Manager installation fails if neither the DB2 client installation nor the Oracle client (including DataDirect ODBC) installation is detected. If more than one of these database clients are installed, DB2 is used by default.
- Oracle is not a supported relational database when used with the Windows based Connection Manager. It is supported with Linux, AIX and Sularis Connection Managers.
