Overview

IBM WebSphere Business Modeler Advanced Version 6.1.2 provides all the features of WebSphere Business Modeler Basic, plus robust modeling, simulation, and analysis capabilities to accelerate your process improvement efforts. WebSphere Business Modeler Advanced is an integral part of WebSphere Dynamic Process Edition, a foundational offering of the IBM BPM Suite.

• Bridges the gap between business and IT WebSphere Business Modeler Advanced helps business users understand and transform business processes through superior business modeling, simulation, analysis, and collaboration capabilities. It lets IT-focused users export models to multiple build-time environments to help jump-start application development.
• Provides best-in-class modeling, simulation and analysis WebSphere Business Modeler Advanced gives the people who know the business a sophisticated and easy-to-use tool to model the business, with many drag-and-drop features for multi-dimensional modeling capabilities. Robust simulation capabilities allow you to conduct what-if scenarios using modeled and actual data so that you can make smart decisions prior to deployment. The simulation engine enables you to simulate the dynamic behavior of your process, so that you can analyze workloads and bottlenecks. Support for human task storyboarding, definition, and visualization along with capabilities for user interface forms analysis, business item state changes and business rules definition provide even more ways to capture your processes accurately.
• Enhance continuous process improvement efforts WebSphere Business Modeler Advanced helps you fully understand all aspects of your business models before deploying them, helping to increase return on investment. In addition, the business measures specification function allows you to define the key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for your organization. With WebSphere Business Modeler Advanced, you can generate business measures models defined in the business measures attributes of an activity. The Business Measures View and the Business Measures Details dialog have been redesigned, improving time to value. This feature enables WebSphere Business Modeler Advanced to support IBM WebSphere Business Monitor software, allowing definition of monitoring information and allowing you to take a snapshot of a modeled process and update it with actual KPI and metric information from WebSphere Business Monitor. You can also define conditions in WebSphere Business Modeler that enable WebSphere Business Monitor to determine that a situation has occurred and that an action must be taken by the user. To enhance continuous process improvement efforts, you can import actual data based on pre-defined Monitored values from WebSphere Business Monitor into WebSphere Business Modeler Advanced to run more accurate and realistic simulations on to-be process models.
• Improve communication through enhanced design features WebSphere Business Modeler is designed to simplify the communication of business processes and enhance collaboration between business analysts and IT. This process modeling tool provides the option to switch process graphics to Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN), a standard graphical notation for drawing business process models. WebSphere Business Modeler now supports custom graphical images in your process models. WebSphere Business Modeler users can now customize images used to represent elements of a business process - for instance, tasks, processes, human tasks and business rules. This feature offers flexibility in representing a specific business process tailored to different audiences. You can also print and publish these process models with the notation and graphical images you have defined in the model. Finally, this release features many enhancements to the palette to simplify process model design.
• Enhanced integration capabilities WebSphere Business Modeler Advanced provides a broad range of integration capability, supporting the following formats or products: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Visio, WebSphere MQ Workflow, Web services, XSDs, XML, Rational Software Architect (UML), WebSphere Business Monitor, WebSphere Integration Developer (BPEL), Rational Data Architect, XML Process Definition Language (XPDL) for IBM FileNet Business Process Manager, and WebSphere Service Registry and Repository. WebSphere Business Modeler Version 6.1.2 extends the integration with IT by providing deeper integration with WebSphere Integration Developer and integration with WebSphere Business Services Fabric.
• Accelerating time-to-value with pre-built assets Business and IT users can leverage predefined templates and industry-specific assets offered by IBM to accelerate time-to-value in their process improvement efforts with WebSphere Business Modeler Advanced. Business users can access these assets either directly with the product or through the IBM SOA Business Catalog.
